Dr. Hamilton: "They say that they eyes are the window to the soul, and many patients get sad when they look at their eyelids and they’ve got sagging and excess skin of the upper eyelid. I can do a lot for that. A modern upper blepharoplasty procedure involves a bit of skin trim but it’s more than that. It also involves reattaching the skin to the muscle that opens the eyes. So I can give them eyes that look more open, more vivacious with a crisp fold in the upper eyelid that they didn’t have before. Lower eyelids are a bit more complex. Lower eyelid ageing is often caused by sagging of the cheeks, and that leads to hollowing and surplus skin in the lid. Mostly what I need to offer them there is to do a small mid face lift to reposition the cheek pads so they’re sitting in the normal position. And then I can trim the surplus skin on the eyelid and rejuvenate it that way."
